Women’s Prize For Fiction Goes to AM Homes
Called an “often breathtakingly dark and crazy satire on modern American life ” by The Guardian, AM Homes’ novel, May We Be Forgiven won the Women’s Prize for Fiction (formerly The Orange Prize), announced in London yesterday, confounding the bookmakers (the favorite was Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel), winning against a group of finalists that also included Zadie Smith and Kate Atkinson.
The Prize has secured a new sponsor and will soon be called the Bailey’s Prize for Fiction. Perhaps Bailey’s is courting reading groups.
