Publishers Weekly, Best Books
Following Library Journal‘s picks of the best books of the year, Publishers Weekly released their choices (with few overlaps), on Friday.
One of the few titles picked by both LJ and PW, as well as LibraryReads, is a book that began life in 2012 as a self-published e-original, The Martian by Andy Weir. It was then picked up for publication this year by RH/Crown (OverDrive Sample). Director Ridley Scott is currently at work on adapting it as a film, starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Pena, Kate Mara and Sean Bean. It is set for release in November, 2015.
This year, both LJ and PW picked several fiction e-originals, most of them romances.
