Elizabeth Gilbert is COMMITTED

In February, we ran a video of Elizabeth Gilbert talking about the pressure of delivering a follow-up to her hugely successful Eat, Pray, Love.

Today, in the New York Times, Motoko Rich adds to the pressure, by announcing the book’s publication, five months in advance of its release date and pointing out that “the new title will be watched closely by fans and publishing insiders to see if Ms. Gilbert has lasting power.”

Further pressure; the publisher is planning a million-copy first printing.

Rich says the book is called Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace With Marriage. Unfortunately, there is no bibliographic information yet (it’s not even listed in Penguin’s catalog). We’ll let you know as soon as we have it.

Meanwhile, here’s the video of Gilbert from February.
