Unfortunately, I could not read Nancy Drew when I was a child. My father was a teacher and my mom didn’t work, so we had to watch every penny and all of our books came from the public library. The Los Angeles Public Library, at that time, did not carry Nancy Drew or any other popular series because they were not considered literature. : ( My friend, who became a pathologist like her father, read them all. I was envious!
