‘Physick Book’ to be on GMA

Katherine Howe’s debut novel, The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, (Hyperion/Voice, 6/9), looks like it could become one of the summer’s breakouts.  The author will appear on Good Morning America next Wednesday, June 10, following a mention in yesterday’s USA Today‘s “Book Buzz” column. Libraries we checked have copies on order, with the number of reserves growing, but still at comfortable ratios in most cases.

We’ve written about this novel before: it was a Shout and Share pick at Book Expo, the #1 IndieNext pick for June, and one of USA Today‘s picks for summer reading.  According to Booklist, this tale of a Ph.D. candidate who becomes strangely immersed in her study of the Salem witch trials is “spellbinding, vividly detailed, witty, and astutely plotted,” and deeply rooted in the author’s family connection to accused seventeenth-century witches Elizabeth Howe and Elizabeth Proctor.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of PHYSICK and I loved it! I watch GMA anyway, but I will be sure to stop, sitdown and watch when Katherine Howe is on Wednesday.
