Jane Hamilton Has A Funny Side
Jane Hamilton’s Laura Rider’s Masterpiece gets 3.5 of a possible 4 stars in this week’s People; “in this witty, loopy story of doomed love, Hamilton, the author of A Map of the World, gives us a beguiling little gem.”
In the Washington Post today, Ron Charles praises Hamilton for her ” foray into comedy” and says, “Hamilton’s sharp eye for the private quirks of married life has always been a little unnerving, and now it seems odd that she didn’t drop more wit into her previous novels.”
Libraries have ordered it in modest quantities, with comfortable reserve to copy ratios at this point.
