‘The Gargoyle’ reviewed in the NYT

Both the Wall Street Journal and USA Today have ruminated on whether The Gargoyle will be the next hit by an unknown writer (Doubleday reportedly paid $1.25 million for the book). Several of you weighed in with your thoughts, as well (all positive).

Today, Janet Maslin reviews it in the Times. She’s clearly fallen under the Gargoyle’s spell and has no problem with the gruesome burn descriptions in the early chapters (in fact, she seems to enjoy detailing them herself).
