‘The Dark Side’

The Dark Side by Jane Mayer rose to #10 on Amazon today, after it was the subject of Frank Rich’s Op-Ed column in the New York Times, “The Real-Life ’24’of Summer 2008.”

Rich says, “Ms. Mayer’s book helps cement the case that America’s use of torture has betrayed not just American values but our national security, right to the present day.”

The Washington Post Book World also featured the book on its cover on Sunday and it the subject of a story on Countdown with Keith Olbermann on Friday (item #3; “War Crimes Comitted at Gitmo?”)

Most libraries have it on order in modest quantities (a few only have the Books on Tape version on order)
