GalleyChat Roundup, March 2020

We’re celebrating the tenth anniversary of  GalleyChat first announced at PLA 2010 in Portland. Some of you may remember these buttons:

Many of the people who joined in the first year (the “OG GalleyChatters”) are still with us. Looking back, I’m amused at how nervous I was about the first chat, held in April 2010, afraid that I’d only hear crickets. Instead there were dozens of tweets and the chorus has grown ever since. It has an effect. We hear from publishers that e-galley downloads spike with each chat and that you provide valuable information to help get books into reader;s hands. Thanks to all of you for giving attention to deserving forthcoming books and for teaching us how to make someone want to read a book in just a few characters.

Below are roundups of the March, 2020 chat, in two versions:

EarlyWord GalleyChat, March 2020— downloadable spreadsheet, useful for creating ordering carts, includes comments from GalleyChatters, information on which titles are available as DRCs through Edelweiss and/or NetGalley, and LibraryReads deadlines (if you are voting for LibraryReads, also check our list of  Diversity Titles, Upcoming, LibraryReads Consideration), plus five titles that were mentioned but are not listed on Edelweiss.

—  Edelweiss Catalog — includes covers, publisher marketing information, links to Edelweiss DRCs.

Please join us for the next GalleyChat, Tuesday, April 7th, 4 to 5 pm ET (3:30 for virtual cocktails). More details and a schedule of upcoming chats here.

Set your calendar alarms and bring a friend.
