WATER FOR ELEPHANTS Coming in April

The filming of reading club favorite, Water for Elephants, starring Robert Pattinson (if you are not up on your heart throbs, he plays Edward in the Twilight movies) wrapped earlier this month. The movie is now scheduled for release on April 15, 2011. Author Sara Gruen’s next title, Ape House, is coming Sept 7th.

The Tempest, directed by Julie Taymor, stuck in limbo because of the sale of Miramax, is now scheduled for release by Disney on December 10th. It stars Helen Mirren as Prospera (in a move Shakespeare would no doubt appreciate, the gender of Prospero has been switched) and Russell Brand is Trinculo. The poster at right suggests it will feature the strong visual effects that are Taymor’s signature.

One for the Money, based on the first in Janet Evanovich’s mystery series, still in the midst of shooting, is scheduled for July 18, 2011. Several people commented earlier on EarlyWord that they thought Katherine Heigl was not a good choice to play Stephanie Plum; does the publicity shot of her in character at left change anyone’s mind?

Evanovich’s next book Wicked Appetite, (9/14), inaugurates a new series, which incorporates two hot trends; cupcakes and the paranormal.

Lincoln Lawyer, based on the Michael Connelly title, currently shooting with Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Phillippe, is scheduled for March 18, 2011. Connelly’s next title, The Reversal, is coming Oct. 5.
