In The Checklist Manifesto, he argues that a seemingly mundane checklist can go a long way preventing mistakes in the operating room, a subject he wrote about in a 2007 in the New Yorker.  He will appear at ALA Midwinter in the Sunrise Speaker Series on 1/17, 8 to 9 a.m.
