SHORT HISTORY OF WOMEN Touted by NYT BR
A Short History of Women, the third novel by 2004 National Book Award nominee Kate Walbert, gets front-page treatment in this Sunday’s New York Times Book Review. In her review, Leah Cohen Hager calls this story of a British suffragists’ suicide and it’s impact on four later generations of women in the Townsend family a ”gorgeously wrought and ultimately wrenching work of art” and says each chapter is “like a slice of exquisite cake.”
Prepub reviews for the book are also strong, including a starred Booklist review, among others.
Library ordering is generally light.
